Video: The Aurora and the Whales - 3 Days in Tromsø, Norway

This stunning video was shot over three days in the village of Tromsø, Norway and it features two of the things that most people visit that place to see – the Northern Lights and the Whales. At nearly a half-hour in length, it is a bit on the long side, but the images that you'll see are simply beautiful. You'll catch a glimpse of large pods of whales as they pass through the waters during the day, and the enchanting Norwegian sky set aglow by the aurora borealis at night. If you have time, watch it from beginning to end, enjoying the music that was selected as the soundtrack. If it's a bit too much to take in one sitting, at least sample some of the footage. It is definitely worth a look.

In this video, we travel to Denmark to get a look at the aurora there. As you would expect, the sky is filled with fantastic colors, some of which look too surreal to actually exist in nature.

Video: GoPro Awards - Aurora Borealis

A couple of weeks back I told you about a new program from GoPro called the GoPro Awards, in which the company would actually pay up to $5 million per year for content that we capture using their cameras. The first videos that are part of the GoPro Awards series have begun to trickle out online, and this two-minute clip is one of them. While the exact location isn't mentioned, it appears as if it is in Iceland or perhaps Scandinavia, where the Aurora Borealis – aka the Northern Lights – are on full display. It is a beautiful video to say the least, and certainly deserving of some attention from GoPro. If this is what we can expect from the award winners, we're all going to be in for a treat.
