The protesters marched from Seoul Plaza to the U.S. Embassy in the capital of Seoul, surrounded the buildings of diplomatic missions before leaving to continue protests.

The rally took place the meeting between President Eve Korea Moon Jae-In and President Donald Trump next week. The protesters said that the South Korean-u.s. Summit meeting should be the place to review the deployment of THAAD. "The deployment of THAAD is not necessary for the defense of the Korean peninsula and should be withdrawn," a protester said. The protesters carried banners jam "Trump only pressed (Korea) deployment of THAAD" or "no Trump" No, THAAD.

The rally was attended by many people in Seongju, where this missile system deployment. People living in the area are concerned that the presence of the THAAD would create the risk of health and environment, as well as becoming a top target of North Korea. After taking office, the President of South Korea has asked to postpone the deployment of THAAD until completion of the environmental assessment the analysis however said that this is his strategy to appease Moon diplomatic situation awkward that he receives.

South Korea promised not to change the agreement with the Usa on the THAAD

According to Reuters, a senior security adviser of South Korea recently said it would not change the agreement signed with the United States about the deployment of a missile defense system. Although there are some problems in the past but the South Korean military is working closely with the U.S. military on this issue.

An American ally Seoul. In a press conference in Seoul yesterday, the National Security Advisor Chung Eui Yong explained that the decision to suspend deployed to assess the environmental impact of the THAAD system is just a normal measure with democratic institutions of South Korea. Today 7-6, the President of South Korea, Moon Jae-In said the President had asked the Defense Department to conduct reviews strictly and according to law about the impact of the deployment (THAAD) with respect to the environment.

"We do not say that to withdraw the silos and equipment had been deployed, but these devices are not yet implemented will have to wait," Yonhap News Agency lead sources from South Korean officials. Thus, the deployment of four additional launchers in the system will have to wait until the completion of reviews, but 2 launchers have been deployed earlier will not be withdrawn. THAAD deployment plan was adopted during the administration of President Park Geun Hye. However, the deployment of this system is controversial in South Korea about potentially provoke for Korea, and stumbled to the strong opposition from China, Russia and Korea.

During the past presidential election, Mr. Moon Jae-In each call to postpone the planned deployment of THAAD because the President's authority for that Park has not consulted people about this issue. Not to mention the President of Moon nor advocated deploying this heavy weapon system by his approach to the North Korean problem is more flexible for olive branches and forms of punishment, isolation, sanctions. Not hard to envision the observers the Green House leaders quickly to the eye to the THAAD system deployment immediately after power. That helped him find the irregularities as "forgotten" 4 launchers have moved to South Korea as well as the lack of environmental assessment. The Ministry of Defense of South Korea stood out on the UN and the US seem flawed untended in this case. So the remaining issue is the internal affair of South Korea. Speech by senior security advisor of South Korea apparently intended to reassure American allies that "everything is nothing but noise."

The U.S. asserted the transparency

In fact just the decision of the President of the Moon to pause the deployment of THAAD, the Pentagon stated Italy America believe South Korea will not cancel the decision to deploy the THAAD system. Yonhap News Agency, speaking to Mr. Gary Ross-the Pentagon's spokesman, said: "the US believes South Korea's official stance in the deployment of THAAD and the decision will not be reversed." Mr. Gary Ross also stressed America completely transparent in the deployment of THAAD. Us military leaders also believe will solve the problem peacefully with South Korea. U.s. Army Secretary Robert Speer said it would resolve the demands to meet the requirements of South Korea. Also the Chief of the US Army Mark Milley also affirmed the U.S. will overcome this and affirm the THAAD is necessary for the protection of u.s. forces in South Korea as well as the protection of this country.

Officials of the South Korean President said the environmental impact assessment may take more than a year, since similar evaluation for the deployment of THAAD in Guam had previously lost to the 23rd. The South Korean Government said it had formed a task group to consider the controversy surrounding the deployment of THAAD. This group is led by the Secretary of the Office of policy coordination (OPC) head of Government and consists of the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, defense and the environment.

According to an official in the group, on the OPC will gather the opinions of the ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs and the environment, through which the study of the way in solving the problems related to the THAAD, including reviews of the impact on the environment. The current law in Korea regulates the installation of equipment or building construction on expanded 330,000 m2 land area need to new reviews on the impact on the environment before deployment. Under the agreement with the U.S., South Korea will issue 700,000 m2 of land to deploy THAAD divided in two stages. The first stage is 320,000 m2 THAAD deployments should not have to undergo a full environmental assessment.
